What's with the name?

One day while Starlie and Amicitia were chatting, the conversation drifted to
their webpage.  They decided that they didn't like just "Amicitia and Starlie's
Webpage".  So they started to brainstorm names.  Amicitia suggested "DaZone",
"A Wee Corner of the Web", "Moonbeams and Cloud Shadows", "Page With
Yellow Squares" (that was the background set on the main page at the time), and "Friendship Star".  After some discussion and a quick vote, "Moonbeams and
Cloud Shadows" was chosen as the new official name of the site.

Who runs this place?

That would be Amicitia and Starlie, two very best friends.

How long has this site been around?

It was started back around June 1999 as a very small site.  It was opened to the
public in late September 1999 and was given its new name shortly after.

So, what's the point of this place?

Good question!  The truth is, it doesn't have much of a point.  Part of its purpose
was just to be a fun project that two friends could work on together, something
that could grow and develop right before their eyes and reflect the growth of
their friendship.  The purpose of this site could also be expressed as "to spread
joy and cheer", since it is about all kinds of beautiful things and features many
bright, cheerful graphics.
