"Type" is the common name of the unicorn.  "Level" shows which unicorns are of a higher rank than others.  "Rare" unicorns are the highest-ranking, followed by "Celestial", "Elemental", and "Sub-elemental".  "Times of Activity" tells what at time of day and in what season the unicorns are most active.  "Diurnal" means during the day, and "Nocturnal" means at night.  Unicorns usually breed during their active season and hibernate during the season opposite their active time.  "Magic" describes the unicorns' special abilities, and "Personality" describes their behavior.  Keep in mind that while some generalizations can be made, each unicorn is unique.  "Other" gives interesting information about the unicorns.

Type: White
Level: Rare
Times of Activity: Nocturnal; Winter
Magic: White unicorns are very strong in magic of all types.  They can use the powers of all the elements.
Personality: White unicorns are very mysterious.  They are rarely seen by humans and do not like to be kept as pets.  They will use magic to escape captivity and conceal themselves in the wild.
Other: Although White unicorns are most active in the winter, they do not hibernate in the summer.  It is rumored that White unicorns can and will use telepathy to communicate with humans, but no one has yet been able to prove that they talked to one of these unicorns.

Type: Time
Level: Rare
Times of Activity: Nocturnal; Winter
Magic: Time unicorns are very strong in magic of all the elements, and also are said to be able to control the speed of time.
Personality: When viewed from a distance, Time unicorns move about very purposefully and calmly.  When approached, they become wild and will fiercely resist being captured.
Other: People speculate that summer days seem so long because the Time unicorns are hibernating, causing time to move slower.

Type: Sun
Level: Celestial
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Summer
Magic: Sun unicorns have very solid control over light.  They are often seen with their horns glowing.
Personality: Sun unicorns are extremely friendly.  They will willingly approach any nearby humans, and there have been numerous cases of these unicorns leading people through dark places.
Other: Although these unicorns are fairly rare, people who claim to have captured one are often laughed at because it is a known fact that Sun unicorns will often adopt an owner.

Type: Moon
Level: Celestial
Times of Activity: Nocturnal; Fall
Magic: Moon unicorns have control over darkness and can make shadows appear.
Personality: While slow to approach a human, these unicorns are extremely trusting.  They make faithful pets and almost never attack.
Other: Since these unicorns can create darkness, they were long thought to be evil.

Type: Star
Level: Celestial
Times of Activity: Nocturnal; Winter
Magic: Star unicorns have very strong telepathy.
Personality: These unicorns are very quiet and usually don't associate with other unicorns of any type.  They are often very moody and unpredictable.
Other: When Star unicorns do communicate with humans, they often make strange predictions, most of which come true.  They seem to have strange understanding of everything.

Type: Earth
Level: Elemental
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Spring
Magic: These unicorns seem to be able to create or prevent earthquakes, as well as affect the terrain of an area.
Personality: Earth unicorns make good pets.  They are eager to serve their masters and have been known to allow humans to ride them.
Other: These unicorns are valued by farmers because they can replenish the soil and make it good for growing crops in.

Type: Fire
Level: Elemental
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Summer
Magic: These unicorns are able to cause wildfires, volcanic eruptions, and heat waves.
Personality: Fire unicorns will often bond with a human at sight and refuse to leave their side.
Other: Fire unicorns have particularly interesting and complex mating rituals.  They tend to keep one mate for their entire life.

Type: Water
Level: Elemental
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Summer
Magic: Water unicorns have the power to cause tsunamis and whirlpools.  They also control tides and currents.  They have the strange abilities to walk on top of water and to walk underwater without having to breathe.
Personality: Water unicorns are very graceful in their movements.  They are somewhat distrustful of humans and are difficult to tame.  In spite of this, many people try to capture one in the hopes of being able to ride it.
Other: When humans approach, Water unicorns usually disappear into whatever water they live near.  Because of this, they are rarely seen.

Type: Sky
Level: Elemental
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Spring
Magic: Sky unicorns can determine what shade of blue the sky will be, and also can control the weather.
Personality: Sky unicorns love music.  They are easily captured by anyone who knows how to sing.  They will also congregate in large groups and produce a strange, echoing melody.
Other: Sky unicorns will 'sing' to attract friends and potential mates.  They also make an unpleasant noise to scare away enemies and rivals.

Type: Plant
Level: Sub-elemental of Earth
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Summer
Magic: Plant unicorns are able to make plants grow and to keep them healthy.
Personality: Plant unicorns live in herds and usually move from place to place in neat, orderly rows.  If allowed to move around freely in a house, they will use telekinesis to move objects and clean up.
Other: These unicorns are valued by sloppy or forgetful people.  They seem to be upset by disorder and have a tendency to eat only the plants which they believe to be out of place.

Type: Flower
Level: Sub-elemental of Earth
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Summer
Magic: These unicorns can make flowers bloom, and sometimes can change the colors of things.  They also are able to shrink themselves.
Personality: Flower unicorns are very skittish and easily scared.  It is difficult to capture them because they will usually run away.
Other: These unicorns are said to be very common, but they are almost never seen.

Type: Sand
Level: Sub-elemental of Earth
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Summer
Magic: Sand unicorns can create sandstorms and are able to move sand in any way they want.
Personality: Sand unicorns hate oases and try to bury them.  They have good telepathy, and, if captured, make excellent companions for intelligent humans because they like to think about things and reach logical conclusions.
Other: In the wild, Sand unicorns will travel long distances by themselves in search of food.  They only come together to mate.

Type: Rock
Level: Sub-elemental of Earth
Times of Activity: Nocturnal; Winter
Magic: These unicorns are able to move very heavy objects by telepathy.  They can create mountains and cause avalanches.
Personality: Rock unicorns are very stupid, but they never give up.  They will attack a job from the same angle until it is done or they manage to think of another method.
Other: Rock unicorns are very easy to capture because they are either too stupid to run away or too slow to escape.  Once in captivity, they will not attempt to escape.  Unfortunately, this results in them being abused and forced to do hard labor.

Type: Smoke
Level: Sub-elemental of Fire
Times of Activity: Nocturnal; Fall
Magic: Smoke unicorns have the amazing ability to turn into wisps of smoke and travel through the air.  Some are able to change their form to anything they want.
Personality: Smoke unicorns make very good companions for anyone.  They will sit quietly and listen to a person's problems, then do exactly the right thing to make them feel better.
Other: Since these unicorns require fairly little care, they are often given to depressed people to try to cure them.

Type: Snow
Level: Sub-elemental of Water
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Winter
Magic: Snow unicorns can create snowstorms and are able to endure very cold temperatures.  They also have strong telepathy.
Personality: Snow unicorns are very friendly and like to tell jokes and do silly things.
Other: Snow unicorns would be difficult to capture because they blend in with their environment, but their loud laughter always gives them away.

Type: Ice
Level: Sub-elemental of Water
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Winter
Magic: Ice unicorns are able to control ice and also to make themselves invisible.
Personality: These unicorns are very smart.  They tend to look down on others and only congregate with other Ice unicorns.
Other: Ice unicorns don't make good pets, since they annoy others with all their talking about obscure facts and advanced math.

Type: Air
Level: Sub-elemental of Sky
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Fall
Magic: Air unicorns can create wind patterns.  They are able to levitate themselves and other objects.
Personality: Air unicorns are always happy.  They like to celebrate for no reason at all and are always cheerful.
Other: These unicorns are often seen running around in the air.  In spite of this, they are not difficult to capture because they will come down to meet a person.

Type: Cloud
Level: Sub-elemental of Sky
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Spring
Magic: Cloud unicorns can create and move clouds.  They also control fog and are able to stand on clouds.
Personality: Cloud unicorns are very optimistic.  They have a positive outlook and usually good things happen to them and to the people around them.  For this reason they are valued as pets.
Other: Though Cloud unicorns are friendly to almost everyone, they dislike Air unicorns, who tend to push their clouds around.

Type: Lightning
Level: Sub-elemental of Sky
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Summer
Magic: Though Lightning unicorns do not have strong enough telepathy to lift large objects, they have such good control of this magic that they are able to write and to handle delicate objects.
Personality: Lightning unicorns are very fast and have fierce tempers.  However, most of the time they are tame and will engage in creative pursuits.
Other: Lightning unicorns have virtually no telepathy at all, but can communicate with humans by writing.  Several of these unicorns have had books published.

Type: Rainbow
Level: Sub-elemental of Sky
Times of Activity: Diurnal; Spring
Magic: Rainbow unicorns have very little magic.  Their telepathy is fair, but they have few other powers.
Personality: Rainbow unicorns are very beautiful and very conceited.  They have no interest in anyone except themselves.  They are very lazy and very demanding.  They are rarely seen in the wild at all because find a human home and claim it as their territory.
Other: These unicorns are very valued by rich people, who compete amongst themselves to see who can raise the most beautiful unicorn.
