We recap assorted pieces from several previous episodes.

Wanda is walking down a disreputable street in the dark. Several guys in a doorway demand a toll for her passing. She uses her powers to make some manhole covers blow up, attacks the men with street-lights, and sets some probably-stolen cars after them.
She goes down another alleyway, and that weird guy from the sewers meets her. She identifies him as Caliban, and asks him to find Magneto.
He looks surprised, says he can't, and walks away.

Wanda: Do not turn your back on me! *blocks him with dumpsters*
Caliban (annoyed): I cannot locate him because he cannot be located.
Wanda: Why not?
Caliban: He is too far advanced. I am sorry. If you had asked for someone else...

Wanda thinks, and asks him to find Pietro.

Roll credits!

Scene: The Institute. It looks a little better than last time.

An elevator rises out of the floor of the gazebo, and Kurt (with hologram) and Evan exit, carrying their school things.

Kurt: *sigh* Home sweet hole in the ground.
Evan: Hey, it's better than school. I'm this close to bagging the whole Bayville High thing. None of my buds stood by me.
Kurt: Then they probably weren't real friends anyway.
Evan: You should talk. You still wear your image inducer. *turns off the holo* Check for friends when you walk the halls all blue and fuzzy.

Kurt gets all depressed and teleports away.

Evan: Kurt, wait!

Notes: Haha, too slow!

We see a figure on the roof. You'd think it's Kurt, it kinda looks like Logan, and it's actually Roberto. He's absorbing sunlight. He fires up and jumps down into the danger room.

Beast: Let's clear out the debris like only mutants can!

Roberto lifts something and throws it into the air. Bobby freezes it. Sam comes flying over and smashes it into little ice pieces. Half a dozen Jamies with half a dozen brooms sweep the pieces into a pile. Amara fires up and melts the junk into a block of ash. Storm calls a wind to lift the block to Beast, who's standing on a platform.

Beast (sarcastically): I believe they show the same diligence in cleaning their own rooms.

He walks down the hall with the block.

Scott: Anybody who wants a ride to school, I'm leaving now!

Jean runs past, combing her hair. Amara comes from the other direction, almost knocking Beast over.
Kitty is also running, and still brushing her teeth. She phases through Beast and the block. Then she realizes she isn't holding her toothbrush anymore.

Kitty: Oops, sorry. *phases into Beast's chest to retrieve the toiletry item* Hey, don't leave without me!

Beast burps up some bubbles.

Scott's convertible drives out through the gates, and some trucks drive in.

Sign: Confidential Construction Company. "Your Secrets are safe with us!"

Scene: The Brotherhood House.

Toad jumps in front of a mirror, wearing Pietro's uniform, sans shin-guards. It's a little too big for him.

Toad: Hey, look at me! I'm Pietro. *jumps onto the bed* Wait, I gotta go to the moon. *strikes a pose* Okay, I'm back.
Lance: Take that off!
Toad: *jumps away* I can't believe the guy had, like, four uniforms! What a clothes hog!
Lance: Knock it off!

They argue some more. They're supposed to be cleaning up before Mystique comes back, but decide not to do anything for Pietro's room.

Lance: Consider it dumped.

He makes an earthquake. Fred and some junk fall out the window.

Lance: I don't ever want to see that uniform again!
Toad: I like it. Makes me feel fast.

Toad jumps off down the hall, and trips over the socks. He falls through Wanda's door.

Toad: *covers his eyes* It really was an accident this time! Wanda? *looks* Sweetums?

Lance comes and pulls off the uniform.

Lance: Ugh! *covers his eyes* Go put something else on!

Notes: Yes, it's implied that Toad is now naked.

Scene: A bus driving towards a town.

The bus stops, and Wanda gets off.

Sign: Bob's Gas

She walks a bit.

Sign: Meg's Diner

Pietro is sitting at the counter, reading the newspaper. His cup starts to move.

Pietro: Uh-oh.

Wanda comes in and demands to know where Magneto is. Pietro says he doesn't know. He tries to run away, but Wanda freezes his powers. She tells all the other people to leave, then starts throwing tableware at Pietro with her powers.

Pietro: I don't go to him, he comes to me!
Wanda: Then I'll make him come to you.

She releases Pietro and throws him in a closet. The closet slides into the safe, the door closes, and the whole thing rolls out into the street. A police car skids to avoid it.

Commercial break!

The car continues skidding, and smashes into a street-light. The police get out.

Pietro: *banging on the walls* Hey! Let me out! Help! Hello!

The police move in, handcuffs ready.

Scene: Principal Kelly's office.

He's signing something.

Document: ...revised...can notice only hand...green after 1.04 feet? Original X-sheet...green after 4X. Please let us know. ...sos any direction in the revised sheet.

Notes: I got this with my lovely freeze-frame. '...'s are for the parts off-screen.

Kelly signs his name, with a big flourish before the K. He tells Lance to keep his 'mutant thug' friends off campus.

Lance: But you invited us! Now you're just punting us?
Kelly: That's exactly what I'm doing.
Lance: I don't get you, man. It's like you wanted us just to mess with the Xavier kids.
Kelly: Mr. Alvers, you can leave by yourself, or you can leave with security.

Lance makes a small earthquake, pinning Kelly with his desk.

Lance: I'll go by myself.

Ah, poor Kelly is stuck.

Lance goes outside. In the foreground, hands are playing with cards.

Owner Of Hands And Cards: Bonjour.
Lance: Good. I was lookin' for a fight.

Eee, it's Remy! He talks! ^_^

Notes: His eyes are now red-on-black. He has an accent, but it sounds more English to me. Then again, I've never met a Cajun person.

They talk a bit. Remy implies that Lance and his friends should join Magneto. He ignites a leaf and plays with it. Lance walks away.

Rogue is sitting on a bench, drawing, or maybe writing. Some girls walk by, look at her, and laugh. She hears two guys picking on Evan, and walks over.

Loser #1: You mutants think we should be afraid of you!
Loser #2: Let's pluck out his spikes one at a time and then see who's afraid.
Rogue: It won't be us!
Evan: That's it! *spikes up*
Rogue: Evan, don't!
Losers #1 and #2: *scream and run away*
Loser #1: Kelly's gonna boot you for this!
Rogue: Hurry up and retract those things!
Evan: I can't! What's happening to me?
Rogue: Concentrate!

Evan succeeds, but now he has holes in his shirt. Rogue goes to chase the guys. They meet Remy first.

Remy: I've got two words for you: drop it.
Loser #1: We didn't ask you!
Remy: Then consider it free advice.

He takes a pencil from one of the loser's pockets, charges it, and throws it at a tree. It blows up.

Remy: Don't mess with the mutants.
Loser #1: Uh, er, no problem.

The guys run away.

Rogue: What are you doing here?
Remy: Just passing by, chere. Nice day. *leaves*
Kitty: *runs up* Isn't that one of Magneto's new guys?
Rogue: Yeah, and he's up to something.
Kitty: We better tell Scott.
Rogue: Forget it, there's no time! Let's just follow him.
Kitty: But what about sixth period?

Scene: The Brotherhood House.

Lance drives up. Inside, Fred is stuffing junk into a closet. Toad appears, back in Pietro's uniform, and now with the footwear.

Toad: How do I look?
Fred: Like a silver Toad. Quickwart!

Lance comes in and says that one of Magneto's flunkies is following them.

Toad: Which one?

A flaming Jack of Hearts flies in and lands on the floor.

Toad: Oh, that one.

They run for the other room as the card explodes.

Remy jumps in the window, ripping down the curtain.

Remy: Did you get my calling card?
Lance: We did. Now we're going to throw you out on the welcome mat!

A fight ensues. Remy lassoes the curtain around the ceiling fan and goes once around the room, accomplishing nothing.
Fred charges. Remy kicks a pizza box across the floor, and Fred slips and falls down.

Toad: This is a job for Quickwart!

Toad charges and misses. Remy wraps him in the curtain and charges it.

Remy: I let go, and you'll be repainting this room. Now let's talk.
Toad: Talking's good. Talking's great. We hate painting.

Remy says again that they should join Magneto, and doesn't really give them a choice. He says their mission is to retrieve a captured mutant. He uncoils the curtain, and Toad goes flying and lands on Fred.

Lance: So who's Magneto got in mind?
Remy: Your old friend Pietro.

There's really corny music as the Brotherhood reacts.

Commercial break!

The jeep pulls away from the Brotherhood house. Rogue and Kitty are watching from across the street.

Kitty: I can't believe it! Can't Lance stay out of trouble for one day?
Rogue: Not that boy. Come on, hitch us a ride.
Kitty: What do you mean, 'hitch us a ride'?

They run up to the stop sign at the corner and phase into a truck that comes by. They ride until they reach another stop sign. Kitty peeks into the cab.
The driver has a bobbly-head Martian and a sticker that says "I Brake for Aliens".
The girls phase out and wait for another truck to come.

Rogue: There's our connection.

Inside that truck, Kitty stands on Rogue's shoulders and phases onto the roof. She ducks through and pulls Rogue up. Then they jump into the trunk of a car.

Elderly People In Front: Huh?

Notes: Woulda been funny if they wound up in the back seat...

From there, they phase to a motor home and then another truck, which happens to be refrigerated.

Kitty: Oh great, a meat truck. Who came up with this plan anyway?
Rogue: What plan? I'm making this up as I go.

Scene: A winding mountain road.

Some army trucks are driving along. The biggest one has Pietro in the back.

Rogue and Kitty come up the road.

Kitty: Which part of your plan is this?
Rogue: The part where it all comes together. Look, there's Lance's rig.

They run over to the jeep.

The Brotherhood is lying in wait for the army.

Fred: Hey, look on the bright side.
Toad: Yeah, after we bag this, we'll be on Magneto's team.
Lance: Who cares about him? I just want to get my hands on Pietro.

Lance cracks up the road, and starts an avalanche. Some of the jeeps fall over the edge.

Kitty: I knew we should have called Scott!
Rogue: We can handle this ourselves. Come on!

Lance makes another earthquake, and cars start to slide around. Rogue rescues some guy from getting squashed.

Rescued Guy: Aren't you with them?
Rogue: Don't insult me!

Army Man: Mutants! Fan out. Tazers ready. *into the intercom* This is Sergeant Carl, requesting support.

Toad jumps down and steals the intercom with his tongue, then throws it away.

Toad: Sorry, you're outside your calling area.

He jumps around, avoiding whatever the army is shooting at him. Fred charges through, knocking trucks out of the way.

Pietro: Hey Blob, you actually got off the couch to come rescue me!
Fred: Yeah, then we're gonna squash you!

He starts to do something with the truck. Rogue catches up to Lance and drains him. Then Fred loses his hold on the truck, and it falls over the edge.

Kitty: I got it!

Kitty jumps into the truck and phases Pietro out the other side. They wind up on a little ledge below the road.

Pietro: Thanks. But seems you just about muffed that, slowpoke.
Kitty: What?

He climbs up and runs away.

Wanda (standing on a cliff): Another day, Pietro. This is *not* over.

The rest of the Brotherhood start to make their escape. Rogue makes an earthquake after them, but they stay ahead of it.

Rogue: I'm gonna rock them!
Kitty: Don't bother, they're gone. And so's Pietro, that jerk. I'll slowpoke him!
Army People: Hands in the air!
Army Man: Stand down, men. *comes to the front* I saw what happened back there. Thank you.
Kitty: Uh, you're welcome.
Rogue: I don't get it.
Army Man: Not everyone hates mutants, miss. We're just peacekeepers. Like you. I'd give you a lift, but we're kind of stranded ourselves until another unit arrives.
Rogue: That's okay. We'll get a ride. (to Kitty) Right?
Kitty: Wrong. We are finding a phone and we are calling Scott.

Scene: The Brotherhood House.

Remy lets himself in.

Remy: What's up, guys. Tell me. Why are you such losers?
Toad (drawing with his feet): Because the X-Men are winners. It all balances out.

Fred is reading a comic book. He asks if they still get to join Magneto. Remy says no, their job was a disaster. They need leadership, and Magneto has sent someone.

Lance (playing a guitar): Let me guess. You?
Remy: No. Him. *gestures to the door*
Pietro (enters): Gonna welcome me back?

The Brotherhood start to attack him, and he runs up onto a chair.

Pietro: Mess with me, mess with my father. Capisce?

Notes: Agh, the bad Italian grammar...it hurts...

Pietro: Things are gonna change around here. No one rests until we take down the X-Men. Permanently. But first, let's get this house cleaned up.

Remy leaves.

Scene: The Institute kitchen.

Kitty and Rogue are laying blame on themselves.

Scott: Your judgement was pretty lame.
Professor: But your motives were not. I do applaud you girls for taking the initiative. Please understand, however, that we cannot deal with every problem that comes up. You have lives to live, school to attend...
Scott: And detention on Saturday. It seems Kelly isn't cutting you any slack for skipping sixth period.
Kitty: I knew it! I *knew* it!

Rogue, Scott, and Xavier all look happy for no apparent reason.
