Think it sounds good but don’t really get it?  Then read on for the
simplest possible explanation of how to play.
 

How do I join the game?

Step 1: Read the Scrolls

 Here’s a good place to start!  Read all the information about Lorasa
Isten to make sure you know all about the races, the guilds, the
social structures, and the geography.  This will make playing the
game much easier.

Step 2: Prepare to Join

 Read over the Blank Scroll to see the questions, then go back to
the information pages and make sure you know how you will
answer them.

Step 3: Join the Game

 Inscribe the Blank Scroll and place it in the hand of a trustworthy
messenger, telling them to deliver it swiftly to Amicitia.  As soon
as I get it I will check it out and work on adding you to the game.
I will always reply to “Join” requests.  Most of the time I will say
you’re in, but if there is something wrong with your request, I will
let you know what the problem is.  This is because it always
annoys me when I try to join a game and never hear back from
the person who runs it.

Step 4: Read the Posts

 Catch up on what’s happening in Lorasa Isten by reading other
members’ posts.  This way you can just jump into the story
instead of posting blindly.

Step 5: Write a Post

 This game is basically a big ongoing story.  To make a post,
simply write what you think should happen next.  This step is
probably the hardest.  Make sure you follow these rules:

1. Don’t make your post too long or too short.  About one page is
probably good.  And try to keep it interesting.

2. Do not use any bad words.  If you do it will not be posted.

3. Keep in mind that this is set in Lorasa Isten, not in
almost-the-year-2000 Earth.  Technology is limited.  Think
medieval times.

4. You may mention other members in your post.  But don’t say
anything mean or it won’t be posted (unless it makes sense to
say something mean, i.e. if you are a Fenoran and they are a
Kyanon and in the story it would be appropriate to insult them).

5. I reserve the right to edit your post based on length or content.

6. When writing, be sure to tell the story from your point of view.
Your thoughts and actions should be consistent with your
personality, race, and position in that race’s society.
 

How do I submit a post?

 Write your post, following the rules above.  When you are done,
e-mail it to me.  I will read it and, if it is appropriate, I will add it to
the post pages.  Be sure to include the following in your e-mail:

1. Your name
2. Your post
3. A title for your post
4. The date(s) and place(s) in which your post takes place.
 And that’s it!
 

Are there plants and animals on Lorasa Isten?

Of course!  When necessary, simply make it up and write it into
your posts.  Plants and animals that appear in the story will be
inscribed on the Scroll of Wildlife.
 

Is there magic on Lorasa Isten?

There certainly is!  If you want to have magic, just put in under
"Other" on the Blank Scroll.  Keep in mind that you can't have too
much, though.

Here are some kinds of magic, though you are free to invent your
own:

1. Telekinesis:The ability to move objects.
2. Telepathy:The ability to read minds.
3. Teleportation:The ability to move yourself from one place to
another quickly by magic.
4. Invisibility:The ability to make yourself invisible.
5. Shapeshift:The ability to turn yourself into something else.
