Amicitia's Thoughts

Rants. Raves. Random ramblings. Miscellaneous musings. And just plain thoughts. I spend way too much time thinking, so I might as well write some of it down. Proceed with caution, for you are about to enter a very strange place: the inside of Ami's head.

April 4, 2002: Hey, it's volunteer morning. I had a really good time with the cats today. First there was this five-week-old kitten, Woody, he was in the back room and it was freezing there so I wrapped him up in a towel and took him into the front to warm him up. And he got some mush for breakfast. But mostly he was interested in running around.
All the cats just seemed especially friendly today. I spent a minute with George and John, they're so cute together. ^_^ And I met Fluffer-nutter, a very sweet white kitten. Also I sat with Gem, who's very friendly but has to stay in her cage, I forget why.
Anyway, after I finished all the work I decided to go pet Sally, who was recently promoted from the Nursery, and usually not too friendly. And she let me! For 15 minutes or so, then I had to leave. But anyway, she was happy, and purring. And we were looking at each other, and I felt her breath on my face, and I saw myself reflected in her eyes. It's times like these that make the job worthwhile.

April 13, 2002: Well, I just got home from a visit with the folks. We had four generations there: me, my mom, my grandma, and my great-great-aunt. I didn't know we still had that many generations in my family. I've met this aunt before, but I didn't realize how she was related to me. Anyway, she's 90 now and getting forgetful. My conversation with her went something like this.
-How old are you?
~17
-You look beautiful.
~:)
-How tall are you?
~5'4"
-Where's my niece?
~In the other room.
*pause*
-How old are you?
And more of the same. Still, it was nice to visit. And the cake was very good. ;)

April 26, 2002: That's it, I'm ranting today. Last night I got home from my Scrabble club (4 games, 1 win, 2 bingos) and thought I'd check my email quick before sitting down to watch Survivor (we tape it every week). So I reloaded my inbox, and I found myself staring at 351 new emails. 345 of them were copy upon copy of the exact same spam, from the same person. Took me quite a while to get them all deleted. The thing is, this also happened a few days ago. I got nearly 320 copies of some other trash. And it's just, you know, don't these people have anything better to do? And do they think that sending all those duplicates is going to make me more interested in their offer? Or even more likely to open any of the emails? Get a hobby, people! Get a day job, get a life, get out of my sight before I get medieval on your hiney. >.< Now, the other part that really irks me, is that Hotmail has been complaining lately that my account is too full, which I really don't think it is, but anyway it's threatening that I might not be receiving all my mail. Which I'm sure I'm not. A friend even told me a few things had bounced. So I'm just steaming, because why can't I receive the real mail instead of the junk? Why can't all the spam bounce back to the sender and flood them out? It's just not fair.
