The Fenorans
Society: A race
of men, rich and secure in their communal wealth.
Many are slaves in the
Great Houses of the Lords and Ladies. Few
beggars roam the streets
of Fenor City, as most of the lower class
are employed as slaves.
The middle classmen earn their living in
the shops of the city
and belong to guilds.
Religion: The Fenorans
are good men, generous to the less
fortunate and fair in
all disputes. They faithfully believe in a
number of gods and goddesses
and raise an abundance of
beautiful temples.
They believe that Lora Morasa contains areas
sacred to their patron
deities.
Appearance: They tend
to have large eyes and small noses. Just
beneath their eyes, two
thick tentacles protrude from their faces.
These tentacles are very
tiny at birth but may grow to be several
feet long. They
are very sensitive and are used much like
whiskers. They
are also muscular and flexible, making them ideal
for handling and manipulating
objects.
The Kyanons
Society: They are
poor citizens of Lorasa Isten who farm the land
of Lora Kyan. The
Kyanons are stingy with their money, but only
because helping a beggar
would mean starvation for them. They
wish to gain riches so
that they may live beyond the subsistence
level. Therefore
they seek the rich farmlands of Lora Morasa.
Religion: They pray to
spirits which they believe live in and watch
over a particular element,
such as soil, water, rocks, plants,
animals, or clouds.
In any convenient place, they ask the spirits to
rule their element in
a way that is beneficial to the people.
Appearance: Kyanons tend
to have large pointed ears and a keen
sense of hearing.
They can move their ears the way a cat does.
They have long legs and
a slim build, making them excellent
runners. To balance
themselves as they run, they have a heavy
cat-like tail.
The Takreni
Society: Little is known
about these men, who arrive suddenly in
a place, erect a number
of huts, move quickly and quietly about
their daily chores, and
disappear a few days later. Their summers
are spent in the forests
of Lora Takren, but in the winter the cold
forces them to migrate
to Lora Morasa.
Religion: None that is
known. They seem to be too primitive to
comprehend the idea of
some unseen thing that is more powerful
than themselves.
Appearance: The Takreni
have disproportionately small feet and
short legs. When
they are searching for food they walk on all
fours and use their sharp
sense of smell to locate edible plants.
They can also walk upright,
which they do when they want to use
their hands for picking
up or carrying objects.
Other Races
Various minority
races lead nomadic lives in Lorasa Isten. Many
of them are merchants,
traveling from town to town, peddling their
wares. Some are
poor men, staying with families until they have
worn out their welcome
and then searching for another kind soul.
A few are on the road
for the love of traveling. They stay in
boarding houses until
they get restless and then move on in
search of adventure.
These men often carry news and stories
from place to place as
they travel.
