The social structure of
each race is unique. Read on to learn about
each ranking system.
The Fenorans
The upper class
consists of the rich Lords and Ladies of Great
Houses and their families,
who live in cities and own many
slaves. The middle
class includes common and skilled workers
belonging to various
guilds. These families live in Houses, not
Great Houses. The
lower class is made up of slaves and the
unemployed.
The Kyanons
The Kyanons live
in close knit family groups headed by the Master
and the Mistress of the
House and including children and often
aunts, uncles, cousins,
or other relatives. Although some Houses
are obviously richer
or poorer than others, the difference is not all
that great and so there
is no division of classes in Kyan society.
The Takreni
A very loose and
unorganized society, unlike either the Fenorans
or the Kyanons.
These nomads travel in groups of approximately
20 to 50 individuals,
all of whom are related to some degree. One
member of the group,
usually the oldest, is the Great Chief of the
Clan. This person
may or may not have assistants or advisors, but
makes all important decisions,
such as when the Clan should
move and where to, if
they should speak with another Clan, and
how resources such as
food should be used.
Men are very dominant
over women in Takreni society. Women
are simply housewives
and mothers. When two Clans meet
women are often exchanged
by marrying them into the other Clan,
thus providing for a
way to bring fresh blood into a group and
prevent inbreeding.
